Conventions Used in This Manual

This manual uses the following typographical conventions:

Text displayed on a Netstation screen or the name of a file or a program.

For example, path1 could be a path such as /opt/hpxt/enware2
installdir
The directory where HP Netstation Software is installed. A link is established between /opt/hpxt/enware2 and the actual installation directory. The default installation directory is:
[Text]
Represents a key or on-screen button you select. For example, [CTRL], depending on the context, refers to the keyboard key or on-screen button labeled CTRL.
[F12]
This is the key to press and hold down to access the Netstation's configuration screens. Note that on LK201-layout keyboards, the notation [F12] refers to the key labeled [F3].

Software Installation Information

The software installation booklet shipped with the software media contains instructions for installing the software on your HP, IBM, or Sun host.

Printing Copies of the Technical Reference Book

If you require additional copies of this book, you can print off extra copies from the installation CD-ROM. You can print a copy of the book from the HP Netstation Software 9.0 CD-ROM as follows:

If you are printing the HP Netstation Software 7.1 Technical Reference from the 7.1 CD-ROM (which applies to HP ENTRIA, ENTRIA Plus, and ENVIZEX Netstations), filename is one of the following:

During HP Netstation Software installation, these files are compressed and written to the /opt/hpxt/enware2/share/doc directory. The file names are:
